Freshbooks practices authentic communication

I signed up for an online invoicing web-app last week called Freshbooks because I’m planning on integrating it with Teambox. Later in the week I got (what I thought was) an automated email from Freshbooks which I deleted on arrival. It turns out they emailed because they were planning on calling me. So on the 7th I got a call from Freshbook’s Sales Consultant John Coates and I was blown away. I wasn’t limited to talk only about sales related questions. I got to talk about fancy beers, where to look online for plane tickets and how to contact their API developer.

I think if startups or internet services want to CRUSH IT online they need to go out of their way like John at Freshbooks and start picking up the phone.
