How many times have you heard “We are in the Cloud!” from a CIO? Nowadays many companies have moved to the cloud due to its amazing advantages while keeping costs down: immediate deployment, no implementation cost, no maintenance, availability from anywhere and anytime, etc. But which Cloud?
Most companies started their cloud experience using a CRM (Salesforce, SugarCRM, etc.). Then they started creating Google Docs with their colleagues. And now who doesn’t have a Dropbox or Box.net account for file-sharing and an Evernote user for reminders? Although the most advanced cloud fans are also using a business collaboration tool such as Teambox.

Now suddenly those companies are realizing that their information is in fact in different clouds and that data is as spread as it was before the cloud. It really looks more like mist than like a single cloud.
